Innovation Summit 2019

Greater San Marcos 6th Annual

The Greater San Marcos Partnership presents the

6th Annual Greater San Marcos Innovation Summit.

Our region is transforming into the Texas Innovation Corridor thanks in large part to Texas State University, now officially designated as an Emerging Research Institution, and the significant innovation taking place in the region.

Join us to hear from Dr. Denise Trauth on the State of Texas State University. We'll discover what it takes to disrupt an industry from a panel of innovators who run companies in the region. And we will recognize an innovative company with the Burdick Award for Innovation

September 18th, 2019

11 am - 1 pm

San Marcos Conference Center | 1001 E. McCarty Ln. San Marcos, TX 78666

Mike Georgoff

Chief Product Officer

H-E-B Digital

Georgoff leads digital product strategy, design, and management. His team's mission is to weave digital deep into the fabric of H-E-B, for both the customer and Partner experience. A veteran of high growth consumer tech start-ups, Mike played critical strategy and product leadership roles at Redbox and RetailMeNot, propelling each from early stage to $1B+ public company. He was most recently Chief Product Officer at Main Street Hub, where he built a world class product, design, and brand organization from scratch, leading it until the company's recent acquisition. Mike attended the University of Michigan, graduating summa cum laude with a major in political science and minor in economics.

Georgeoff's keynote, entitled Break All the Rules - But Don't Be a Rebel!, will briefly explore truly transformational innovation - the type that redefines industries. You'll get a whirlwind tour of the early days of Redbox, the movie rental company, and real time snippets of H-E-B's digital transformation journey. These stories will demonstrate the importance of holistic design; the necessity of discarding rules and conventions; and most critically, we'll disprove the myth of the solitary genius and show that going it alone is a fool's errand.
