2019 Greater San Marcos


The Greater San Marcos Partnership presents the

2nd Annual Greater San Marcos Education Summit.

The Texas Innovation Corridor (I-35 between Austin and San Antonio) is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing corridors in the U.S. To help prepare our residents for the employment opportunities that accompany economic growth, workforce development partners from across the region are working together and taking a strategic approach to develop and enhance our workforce pipeline. The quality of a community's workforce is the most important competitive asset it can offer current and prospective employers. 

Join the Greater San Marcos Partnership on November 19th as we take an in-depth look at the innovative work being done in our area school districts to prepare our students for a multitude of career paths that will ultimately represent our region's workforce capabilities!

Susan Dawson

President & Executive Director

E3 Alliance

Susan Dawson is a Texas Entrepreneur, business and civic leader. She founded and leads E3 Alliance, which has been recognized across the country for its ground-breaking work in systematic change for education. Susan has led multiple successful technology firms and served as Chair of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. Her many awards include the Leadership Austin Polly Scallorn Award for Lifetime Achievement in Community Trusteeship, Austin Under 40 "Austinite of the Year," Hero for Children by the State Board of Education, Austin Profiles in Power "Profile Leader," Earnst and Young "Entrepreneur of the Year," Dell Medical School Health Hero, and the UT McCombs School "Trailblazer Award" for the distinguised women alumni trailblazer in business and community. In 2011, the Austin Business Journal named Susan one of "Austin's 30 Most Influential" leaders who have shaped Austin's economy and culture in the last 30 years. Susan earned a BS Cum Laude from Princeton University and an MBA with highest honors from UT Austin McCombs School of Business. 



From robotics and digital literacy to automotive and nursing certifications, the schools in the Greater San Marcos region provide students with a quality education so that they are prepared to pursue a job of their choice. During the event, a panel of local superintendents will discuss how they're working on a daily basis to provide a dynamic and world-class education to our children.
